a little show for sara

Only a very few times in an artist's life does he or she have the good fortune to work with an extraordinary person like Sara Streeter.  A person, that brings the best of your talent to the forefront. When I first worked with Sara, it was in a class room. I couldn’t help notice that she made every artist in the room feel special -- she was always so kind to all that worked with her.

For the last five years I wanted to work with one model that could travel through time and share my vision in my work.  Sara has never failed me and I have been able to portray my dream.

In my art career I have rarely found someone capable of enabling me to create what I needed in my working career, that I want to put on canvas or film. Then when you find this wonderful person to resonate the magic that could happen.  Sara has opened that door.  Working with her has been one of the most wonderful times of my life.  I will always be grateful.  I believe the work speaks for itself.  The process was on going and I thank Sara for helping me through it.

The focus was on capturing the mood of the environmental settings (Paris, Butterflies, India, 50’s Las Vegas, Goth, and Gypsy).  With each costume & settings Sara created the different mood to capture the settings as they were envisioned.  With the costumes and setting she gave such a wide rang of expression, mood and personality.  She became the person in the setting and stayed in character.

I was evolving the idea of using thematic backdrops to create a scene with model and costume.  My focus was to create scenes with a model to bring a mood of a time past and a time frame that fascinated me. As I imagined each setting it would take time to gather the most important pieces to include that made the strongest statement for that setting. It could be a gesture or simply the pose that gave me what I was looking for.
